The Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle & King County was established in 1977 with a clear and compassionate purpose: to help meet the urgent food needs of individuals and families facing hunger, hardship, and crisis.
For nearly five decades, EFP has remained committed to serving the community with dignity, care, and compassion. What began as an emergency response to hunger has continued to grow into a community-centered effort supported by donors, sponsors, volunteers, partner agencies, businesses, faith communities, and neighbors who believe that no one should have to face food insecurity alone.
As EFP approaches 50 years of service, our mission remains rooted in one shared belief: food is a basic human need, and feeding people is an act of dignity, care, and community.
